‘A Celebration’ is the latest track from Blue Bendy, a South London-based art-rock band. The group have been finding their sound over the course of the perfectly bizarre set of singles they have already dropped. Nonchalant lead vocals ring away at the top, almost ignoring the strangeness of the time-changing, juxtaposing accompaniment that sits beneath. They don't shy from dissonance or structural complexity either, as the track progresses they are completely unafraid to throw a whole new section in without warning. On the track, lyricist and vocalist Arthur Nolan says: “It explores the idea of letting lots of good things around you come crashing down in order to perpetuate a comforting habitual, well-earned ego trip and eventually coming to terms with it.” Have a look at Blue Bendy's other releases when you get the chance. -Dan Peeke
